Carnival Breeze
Carnival Breeze was the first Carnival ship built with Guy's Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina from day one
Carnival Breeze launched in 2012 as the first Carnival ship designed from the start with the dining partnerships that have since become the brand''s identity: Guy''s Burger Joint with Guy Fieri and BlueIguana Cantina — the taco bar that replaced the generic lido food options. At 3,646 guests, Breeze is the second of the Dream class, and it introduced the dining format before any earlier ship had received it as a refit. The ship sails primarily from Miami, running Eastern and Southern Caribbean itineraries.
The Dream class design put the Serenity Adults-Only Retreat on the stern and WaterWorks on the upper lido from the outset. Breeze introduced the partnership dining model to the class: Guy''s Burger Joint serving pressed-burger-restaurant quality food for lunch, BlueIguana Cantina running a taco line that beats most of what the main buffet offers, and the RedFrog Rum Bar as a casual outdoor bar alternative to the pool bars. These additions changed the baseline expectation for Carnival ships going forward.
Miami homeport gives Breeze access to the Eastern Caribbean on seven-night itineraries: Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten are the recurring port rotation. The schedule allows same-day fly-in from most major US markets — Miami International Airport is large enough and well-connected enough that the flight-and-cruise package works without a pre-cruise hotel night.
Carnival Breeze handles families and mixed-age groups well. The WaterWorks slides satisfy children who need to burn energy on sea days; Serenity gives adults a quiet alternative; the main pool has the energy and music that the Carnival brand is built on. The comedy club, casino, and bars run into the evening. The ship''s programming density is appropriate for the 3,646-guest scale.
The Dream class is not Carnival''s newest generation, and Breeze''s 2012 construction shows in some areas. Cabin sizes are larger than the Conquest class but smaller than the Vista class; the pool deck can feel full at peak times. For Miami-based travelers or those willing to fly in, Carnival Breeze is a capable ship for Eastern Caribbean sailings at the Carnival value point.
