MSC Seascape

MSC Seascape is MSC's North American flagship — built for Miami, the Bahamas, and a Caribbean programme anchored by Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

MSC Seascape (2022) is the second ship in MSC's Seashore class and the line's primary vessel for the North American market, homeported in Miami and designed for Caribbean sailings with calls at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve — MSC's private island in the Bahamas. At up to 5,877 guests and 169,400 GT, Seascape is among the largest ships afloat: 22 decks, 331 metres long, and built around a signature outdoor Promenade that circles the ship at mid-deck. The onboard programme includes a Robotender cocktail bar, Himalaya Park adventure complex, Cirque du Soleil performances, and 12 dining venues. Seascape also operates summer Mediterranean itineraries. She is a near-sister to MSC Seashore.

The Seashore class was designed around a single premise: put the ocean back into the cruise experience. The exterior Promenade — a walkway that loops around the ship at mid-deck — is the architectural statement that follows from that premise. On most mega-ships, the outermost accessible spaces are high-above-the-waterline observation decks or pool areas. The Seascape Promenade is lower, closer to the waterline, and genuinely circumnavigates the ship. On a Caribbean sailing, it becomes a place to spend real time: watching the sea, reading, or walking the circuit as the ship approaches port. The feature is complimentary and doesn't require a reservation.

The Himalaya Park adventure complex occupies the upper decks: a network of bridges, rope walks, nets, and elevated challenges that cover more vertical range than most shipboard adventure parks. It is genuinely strenuous for adults, not just children, and uses the ship's height to create an experience that looks different from every deck. The waterslide complex and dedicated adult-only Atmosphere pool sit alongside the family pool areas, giving the outdoor deck a clear segmentation between quiet and active zones.

Robotender is the ship's most photographed feature: a robotic arm behind the bar that mixes and serves cocktails. The spectacle element is real — watching the arm operate at speed is interesting enough to draw a crowd — but the practical appeal is that it delivers consistent cocktail execution without wait times at peak hours. Robotender is housed in one of the ship's 20 bar venues; the rest of the bar programme is conventionally staffed.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve anchors Seascape's Bahamas itineraries. MSC developed the island on a former industrial site and invested in marine restoration before opening it as a guest destination — the seagrass beds and coral ecosystems are the result of active rehabilitation work, not just a rebrand. Guests access multiple beach areas, a lighthouse, water sports, and a dedicated MSC Yacht Club beach for suite guests. The conservation framing is accurate and ongoing.

The 12 dining venues include Butcher's Cut steakhouse, Hola! by Dani Garcia (a Spanish-Mexican collaboration with the Michelin-starred chef, available as a specialty restaurant), the MSC Yacht Club private restaurant for suite guests, and a Panorama buffet restaurant. Cleopatra's Spa covers a full treatment menu; the Yacht Club occupies the forward upper decks with its own pool, lounge, and butler service. The Cirque du Soleil partnership produces dedicated performances in the ship's Carousel Lounge — the shows are designed for the cruise ship format and included in the fare.
