Enchanted Princess (2020) is the fifth ship in Princess''s Royal-class, launched into a pandemic and finding her stride by 2021. She carries approximately 3,660 guests and shares the core Royal-class design — piazza atrium, MedallionClass technology, SeaWalk — but adds Princess''s first dedicated private conservatory suites (glass-enclosed outdoor space accessible only to cabin occupants) and The Catch by Rudi, a seafood specialty restaurant introduced for this ship that became a fleet-wide hit.
Enchanted Princess benefits from being the fifth iteration of a design that Princess spent eight years refining. The Royal-class started with Royal Princess in 2013, absorbed feedback through Regal, Majestic, and Sky, and arrived at Enchanted with the most polished implementation. The piazza atrium is proportionally better, the cabin storage layouts are more thoughtful, and the public spaces have better acoustic separation — the kind of detail that matters on a 19-night Mediterranean sailing more than on a 7-night Caribbean itinerary.
The conservatory mini-suites are the standout feature for guests who care about accommodation. These mid-ship cabins on Deck 12 have private enclosed glass-walled verandas that function more like a living room extension than a standard balcony — weather-protected, intimate, and dramatically different from what any Royal-class predecessor offered. The Catch by Rudi — named for Rudi Sodamin, Princess''s master chef since 1997 — is a seafood-focused specialty restaurant that replaced the space a different venue occupied on earlier Royal-class ships. The menu focuses on raw bar, whole fish preparations, and regionally sourced seafood where itineraries allow. It arrived on Enchanted and has since been added to other Princess ships, which is a reliable indicator that passengers responded well.
For guests comparing Royal Princess and Enchanted Princess on the same itinerary: Enchanted is the better-built version of the same concept. Meaningfully different?
