Seven Seas Splendor launched in 2020, making her Regent''s penultimate new ship before Seven Seas Grandeur. At 750 guests, she shares Explorer''s capacity and core all-inclusive model while introducing a richer design palette and updated suites. Seven Seas Splendor launched in February 2020 — weeks before the cruise industry shut down — and returned to service in 2021 after the pandemic pause. The ship had minimal time to build its reputation before the shutdown; it has since established itself as a strong Regent iteration, particularly for Caribbean itineraries where the all-inclusive model (excursions included, premium spirits included, specialty dining included) creates the most direct value comparison with mainstream lines charging à la carte.
The design distinguishes Splendor from Explorer. The Regent Suite on Splendor — the top-category suite at 4,443 square feet, with a private spa, a grand piano, and floor-to-ceiling windows — is decorated with commissioned artwork and custom furnishings rather than the classic-hotel aesthetic of older Regent ships. The public spaces carry a bolder design language: deeper colors, more material variety, a visual identity that reads as more contemporary.
The dining program matches the Regent fleet standard: Compass Rose (main restaurant, always open, no reservation), Prime 7 (steakhouse), Chartreuse (French), Pacific Rim (Asian fusion), and La Veranda / Setti Mari (Italian, daytime and dinner). All specialty restaurants included, no surcharge. The wine program is managed by a sommelier who adjusts to regional itineraries.
Seven Seas Splendor is particularly effective on Caribbean sailings. The all-inclusive excursion benefit — one excursion per port per person — means that a 10-night Caribbean sailing effectively includes 9-10 guided excursions across the island ports, a value that changes the total cost calculation substantially compared to booking excursions separately on a mainstream line.
