Silver Nova is Silversea's newest ultra-luxury ship with a redesigned layout and S.A.L.T. culinary program
Silver Nova launched in 2023 as the lead ship of Silversea''s Nova class — a new design that increases capacity to 728 guests while rethinking how space is distributed aboard ship. The hull-to-guest-space ratio is the highest in the Silversea fleet; the ship carries fewer guests per ton of displacement than any previous Silversea vessel. The S.A.L.T. culinary program, introduced on Silver Moon and Silver Ray, is central to the Nova design.
Silver Nova represents a deliberate design reconsideration. The traditional cruise ship layout (cabin corridors above, public decks below, with narrow windows in the hull) is inverted in Nova: the ship''s public spaces are arranged around a large central atrium with natural light reaching multiple decks simultaneously. The effect is a ship that feels less like a hotel building laid on its side and more like a coherent architectural space.
The S.A.L.T. program on Silver Nova is the most developed version yet. S.A.L.T. Kitchen adjusts its menu regionally — Mediterranean sailings feature Adriatic and Provençal cuisine, Nordic sailings adjust to Scandinavian and Baltic ingredients. The S.A.L.T. Lab hosts hands-on cooking classes. The S.A.L.T. Bar develops regional cocktail menus with local spirits and producers. The program requires sourcing coordination at each port of call, which is operationally complex but delivers on the premise that what you eat should reflect where you are.
The dining program beyond S.A.L.T. includes Atlantide (Mediterranean fine dining), La Terrazza (Italian), Kaiseki (Japanese omakase-inspired), and Silver Note (supper club format with live music, reservation-required). All are included. The Ship''s Captain''s Table (a chef''s table format with the culinary team) is available by invitation on most sailings.
Every suite has a veranda. The entry Deluxe Veranda Suite runs 376 square feet plus veranda — larger than most ships'' premium categories. Butler service is standard across all categories. Wi-Fi, open bar, and in-suite dining are included.
