Silver Spirit

Silver Spirit is a mid-size Silversea ship carrying 608 guests with the full ultra-luxury all-inclusive model

Silver Spirit launched in 2009 and was significantly expanded and refurbished in 2018, adding a new midsection and increasing capacity from 540 to 608 guests while upgrading cabins and public spaces. The 2018 project modernized a ship that was beginning to show its age; the result is a vessel that sits competitively alongside newer Silversea ships in most categories.

The 2018 refurbishment added a new midsection to Silver Spirit — physically cutting the ship in half and inserting 49 new feet of hull. This kind of structural extension is unusual in the cruise industry and speaks to the investment Silversea made in keeping the ship competitive. The result is additional cabin inventory and new public space, including an expanded Panorama Lounge and Arts Café.

Silver Spirit''s dining program runs the Silversea standard: The Restaurant (main restaurant, no reservation needed), La Terrazza (Italian, no reservation), Indochine (Asian, reservation-required, no surcharge), and Seishin (sushi and Japanese, reservation-required, no surcharge). Hot Rocks Pool Deck Dining is a newer concept — grill stones heated to 400 degrees delivered to your table poolside, with fresh ingredients. The poolside version of tableside cooking is a better execution than it sounds.

Silversea''s all-inclusive model covers open bar throughout the ship, butler service in every suite, complimentary in-suite dining, and Wi-Fi. The Silver Suite category adds personalized excursion assistance and upgraded butler interaction. The Medallion Suite adds private limousine transfers to and from the ship.

Silver Spirit''s itineraries emphasize European waters — Mediterranean in summer, Canary Islands and West Africa in shoulder seasons, the Arabian Peninsula and Indian Ocean in winter. The ship does fewer expedition-adjacent sailings than Silversea''s smaller ships (Silver Shadow, Silver Cloud) but more destination-forward sailings than a mainstream cruise line would book.

Silver Spirit is appropriate for: Silversea regulars who want a slightly larger ship than the classic 388-guest vessels without stepping up to Silver Moon or Silver Ray, guests doing their first ultra-luxury Silversea sailing, and European-itinerary travelers who want small-ship flexibility in Mediterranean ports. First-time ultra-luxury cruisers will find the experience clarifying about what the price premium actually buys.
